Waiting. . .

Posted by Leena (Joensuu, Finland) on 12 November 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

I took this photo through a window during my visit a spa of Ilomantsi.
You can see in this photo open water, ice near a shore and a little bit snow, just a promise.

I have done ½ of one photo book, only 4½ books left :)

Sun rises 8:09 and sets 15:21. Length of day is 7 h 12 min.

Stay warm and happy !

Thank you very much for your visits and comments !

LeenaM from Joensuu, Finland

I thought, that I have to adapt you step by step to our winter, not all of a sudden - especially Jeff :)
Therefor I will put a photo now and then depending on weather conditions here.
See you!

Could we bundle up in warm clothes and sit there please?

12 Nov 2008 12:10pm

@Ruth: Ruth,
it was exactly, what I did, but it could have been thousands times nicer to sit there with you !

Jeff from Pembroke Dock, United Kingdom

You can wait for the Winter Leena,I'm with the birds off to warmer climes...But I am looking forward to seeing your Winter Wonderland unfolding before our eyes. :>)

12 Nov 2008 2:11pm

@Jeff: Last winter let us wait until January before it came, every year is different, but always we will get snow and frosts sooner or later - a real winter.
I will be active and show it !

Mariar from Finland

Looks a bit colder than in Pirkkala, where it's mostly wet and dark. Have a good week. :)

I am pleased that I can enjoy the beauty of your winter whilst warm and dry in the NZ summer. Good luck with the rest of the photo books. Stay warm Leena

12 Nov 2008 9:26pm

@jamesy: I would like to send some of our rains to your part of the world :)
I will put a photo about those books, when I get them ready.
Thank you for coming by!

Peter from France

Good for you that you take this as a promise, not a menace! :-)

12 Nov 2008 10:46pm

@Peter: Peter, thank you, I learned a new word "menace" :)
When we lived in Scotland, children were every day asking, when a real winter will come, when we will get snow, this autumn is too long. . . And they got snow for two days that winter! Children were so disappointed
and "the autumn" was too long also in our opinion.
We have had four seasons here and we are complaining, if we don`t get them, so simple, what has been, must always be :)

Hi Leena! I was just watching the slide show of Kiki at the lake... what a lazy dog, sleeping all the time on the end of the dock! Seeing Kiki makes me miss our dear Wendydog.
10 more days here in sunny Florida and then I will be going home to the cold Canadian winter. It will be nice to see Callum, he is crawling everywhere now, and he has started eating meat baby food! I am surprised that he is being given meat, as his mother is a strict vegetarian.
Tomorrow we are going to see a space shuttle launch.

I had to translate your comment by Babel Fish and it says this:
"The chairs and the bench await the return of the beautiful days. Very pretty photograph"
I think it succeeded this time very well and I thank you for your comment.

I am so sorry now, because I am such a unsatisfactory blogperson.
I have now two of my four photo books ready and I feel, that photos are filling me :)
I did not have taken any new photos during these days, but I can tell, that we don`t have any snow either!
This is a record ever, that fist snow is so late here.

I thank you very much for your comments and start making now the third photo book !

Keep those photo books coming Leena. I should get started doing the same thing.
I love the winter is coming photo. Even though it looks cold and brisk, I think I would love to sit in on of those chairs and just watch the scenery.
Looking forward to more pictures when you have time.
