Farewell to The foggy Summer Palace / BeijingPosted by Leena (Joensuu, Finland) on 14 May 2009 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. Chinese roofs and their decorations are amazing, you will get many photos about them still later. A long corridor is 728 meters long and there are over 8000 small paintings, which have been restored 2004 with 12,8 million $. Leons are symbols of a power, another keeps under her paw a baby leon, it means, that also an empress has a power over children and home, but another leon has a power over the whole earth, it is under his - The Emperor - paw. Also peacocks and dragons we will see later, as many other animal figures especially on the roofs. The meaning is not only to decorate but also to protect. Thank you very much for your visits and comments !
